Mrs. Leonard's Marinara Sauce

A Leonard family favorite!  Garlic, tomatoes, and a generous helping of pecorino romano cheese make this sauce as flavorful as it is colorful.

To taste

1. In a pot over high setting, heat the olive oil and sautÈ the onion and garlic until the onions are translucent. Add the crushed tomatoes. Add 1/2 cup of water. Stir until all lumps are dissolved. Add the remaining water. Stir until smooth.


2. Add the peeled tomatoes and stir well. Add all of the other ingredients. Stir. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-high, and simmer for half an hour.
