2023 WINTER HAPPENINGS AT STEW LEONARD’S
IN NEWINGTON
WHAT:
Stew Leonard’s in Newington is kicking off the 2023 holiday season with a number of family-friendly activities, including holiday-themed cooking classes and even Brunch with Santa!
Except where noted, price is per child per class and payment is required at the time of registration via Eventbrite.com (search for Stew Leonard’s in Newington). Parents/caretakers are kindly asked to register children at least 24 hours in advance. If a parent/caretaker needs to cancel a class, refunds will be given only if the store is notified 24 hours in advance. Classes will be held in Stew Leonard’s Executive Kitchen on the second floor of the grocery store in Newington, Conn. Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult, except for the classes for toddlers (ages 2-5 years old), which requires an adult to supervise their little one.
Movie Release: Trolls Class
Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 11-12:30 and 1 -2:30

Today we will get pumped up for the release of the new movie Trolls: Band Together! We will bake and decorate Trolls-themed cupcakes and make a fun Trolls craft!
Autumn Recipes for Toddlers

Let’s celebrate autumn with some fun fall recipes! Today we will prepare cheesy garlic bread sticks, harvest puppy chow, and decorate a fall-themed cupcake!

$30 per child
Ages 6-12
Get in the Thanksgiving spirit with these delicious recipes! Today, we will prepare melted turkey cheddar sliders, mini pecan pies, apple pie fries, and a turkey cupcake. Parents and guardians should note that there will be peanut butter used in this class.

Santa Claus Comes to Stew’s!

5:00-7:00 p.m.
Santa Claus will make his first appearance of the season and will arrive at Stew’s on a truck from the Newington Fire Department, which will be decked out in holiday trim. We will also be lighting our Christmas tree here at Stew’s! Join Wow the Cow, Cynthia the Chick and Daphne the Duck while Santa and his helpers greet children and distribute candy canes to families. Children will also enjoy complimentary cookies and hot cocoa. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and Santa will arrive at 5:30 p.m. No sign up necessary as this is a free event.

Ornament Workshop for Kids
Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00-4:45 p.m. & 5:00-5:45 p.m.
$20 per child (adult must accompany child)

In today’s workshop, we’ll learn how to create four festive ornaments! Each child will make a gingerbread man, snowman, tree with lights and a Santa ornament. Milk and cookies will be served as a snack.
Winter Canvas and a Cupcake Workshop

Swing by Stew’s and participate in our winter canvas painting class! Our hosts will teach children step by step how to paint a snowy tree scene. We will also decorate a winter themed cupcake! Children will be able to take their creation home at the end of the class. Snacks will be provided.

Join us as we decorate four festive cupcakes to bring in the holiday season! Each child will decorate a hot chocolate cupcake, a vanilla ornament cupcake, a Santa hat cupcake, and a vanilla snowman cupcake. In addition, each child will be able enjoy a custom hot chocolate made at our hot chocolate bar.
Candy Factory Workshop

Families are invited to have breakfast with Santa and his friends! A buffet-style breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, assorted bagels, fruit and donuts, will be served accompanied by coffee and hot cocoa! Each child will be able to decorate a wooden ornament to take home. Limited seating available and tickets will be available for purchase via Eventbrite.com starting November 1, 2023.
