Smokehouse Weekend
Saturday, September 2, Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4, 2023 (LABOR DAY WEEKEND)
11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Visit Stew’s new Sidewalk Hoedown for one of our house-made BBQ pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches to order. All our smoked meats are hardwood smoked for 12 hours in our Stew Leonard’s kitchen.
Football Tailgate Weekend
Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10, 2023
Kick off football season with some Tailgate Dogs outside of Stew Leonard’s! We’ll have all the fixings to make your favorite style hot dog. Inside the store, customers can taste their way through the store and sample some of our top-selling game day bites. We’ll feature special gameday items including football-shaped pizzas, our popular wing bar, giant pretzels, kettle chips with house-made dip, stuffed loaves, and more!
Apple Harvest Weekend

Join our chefs and bakers for a celebration of all-things apple at Stew Leonard’s! Choose from Apple Cider Donut Sundaes at our ice cream counter; Apple Turnovers, Apple Fritters, Apple Cider Donuts, Apple Pie, and Apple Crisp in Bethy’s Bakery; Apple Coffee and Apple Cider at our coffee bar; Candied, Caramel, and Fudge Apples and, of course, a bountiful selection of local apples in our Produce Department. Visit our fall garden shop and treat yourself to some warm apple cider donut holes and a cup of hot apple cider!

Halloween Walk Through

Starting on Saturday, October 1, shoppers can follow a Halloween Walk Through under the tent in Stew Leonard’s pumpkin patch. This family-friendly experience, featuring more than a dozen Halloween-themed scenes using inflatable characters, decorations, and more, is a free event that is open daily through Halloween.
Pumpkin Palooza

This time of year, Stew’s Garden Shop is bursting with local pumpkins! Those who purchase a pumpkin at Stew’s on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, 2023, between 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. are invited to a complimentary pumpkin painting event outdoors under the Garden Shop’s tent.
Customers can also choose from dozens of pumpkin-flavored treats throughout the store. Bethy’s Bakery will offer pumpkin spice baked goods including donuts, breads, and pastries alongside pumpkin spice coffee and lattes. Our ice cream counter will offer swirls of pumpkin spice & pistachio ice cream, as well as slices of pumpkin pie topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel.

Halloween Hay Bale Theater

Stew’s Garden Shop will be transformed into a Hay Bale Theater to show a free children’s Halloween-themed movie on Friday, October 13 and Friday, October 27. For movie titles and additional information, please see in-store. The movies begin at 7:00 p.m., with seating opening at 6:30 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; no advance registration is necessary. Kids can also dance to Halloween music with their favorite Stew’s characters before the movie starts! Snacks will be provided.

Maple Mania Weekend

Do you love maple syrup? We do, too! Come indulge in Stew’s seasonal maple items, including maple waffle sundaes, maple bacon cinnamon buns, maple chai lattes, maple glazed salmon and maple bacon sausage made in-house! Out on the sidewalk, you’ll find our chefs grilling up some of our house made sausage to be served on a fresh-baked grinder roll.
Trick or Treat with Stew Leonard’s Characters

4 – 5:30 p.m.
Children ages 8 and younger are invited to dress in their costumes and come to Stew Leonard’s in Newington to go trick-or-treating. Clear goodie bags will be provided to children to collect their candy as they visit trick-or-treating stations throughout the store. Stew Leonard’s famous characters, including mascot Wow the Cow, will be available for taking photos with the children.
Due to a high level of interest from our shoppers, Stew Leonard’s in Newington will offer free tickets to the Trick-or-Treat event to 225 kids. The event will have timed entry so that the store does not become overcrowded; this is for the safety and comfort of all our customers. Families can register for the free tickets via EventBrite.com beginning on October 1, 2023.
Stew’s Spooktacular Costume Breakfast

Adults and children ages 12 and over are $16.99/each; children ages 11 and younger are $14.99/each.
Join the team at Stew Leonard’s in Newington for a Spooktacular Costume Breakfast hosted by our costumed characters and their friends! Stew Leonard’s culinary team will offer a buffet-style breakfast including pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, fruit, juice, and coffee. We will have a spooky dance floor for everyone to show off their best dance moves with our costumed characters! Each child will receive a Halloween goodie bag at the end of the event to take home. Limited spots are available. Families can register for tickets via EventBrite.com beginning on October 1, 2023.

There will be sweet and spooky treats abound for kids of all ages at Stew’s Halloween Extravaganza! Fried Oreos, Halloween Fudge Apples, Spooky Bubbly Potion, Halloween-themed ice cream cones and cupcakes, and Halloween Cocoa Bombs will delight even the youngest ghouls and goblins.
Plus, all kids under age 12 who wear their Halloween costume to Stew Leonard’s on Tuesday, October 31, 2021, will receive a free ice cream cone at our Ice Cream Parlor.
Design a Trick-or-Treat Bag Workshop

In today’s class, children will design a personalized trick-or-treat canvas bag to use on Halloween night!
