WHAT:
To commemorate 25 years of happy customers and happy Team Members in Yonkers, farm fresh food grocer Stew Leonard’s is rolling out 25 Days of Farm Fresh Fun. Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano will join Stew Leonard Jr. in honor of the store’s silver anniversary at a special event on Friday, September 13 at 11 a.m. to celebrate longtime Team Members and recognize four local charitable groups making a difference in the everyday lives of Westchester County residents.
The 14 Team Members who have worked at the Yonkers store since its opening in 1999 will present $2,500 checks to the Yonkers Police Department and the Yonkers Fire Department. The YPD will donate the money to the Captains, Lieutenants, and Sergeants Association (CLSA) and the Police Benevolent Association (PBA). The YFD will donate the money to the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley and the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Program. Representatives from each group will be on hand to accept the checks.
