Chef Alex's Philly Cheesesteak

While he is a New Yorker born and bred, Stew’s Leonard’s Chef Alex is a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan!  He likes using shaved ribeye for his Philly Cheesesteak – it’s tender and flavorful.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh baked Grinder Rolls
  • 1.5 lbs. of shaved Ribeye Meat
  • 1.5 cups of Stew's Mac & Cheese Blend Shredded Cheese
  • 1 Onion, rough chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Stew's Salted Butter
  • Stew's Kosher Salt
  • Stew's Fine Ground Black Pepper
  • Dash of 100% Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Directions

  1. Sauté your onions in butter. Season salt and pepper to taste.
  2. While the onions cook, add the oil to your pan or flattop.  Cook the meat and season with salt and pepper. 
  3. Once the meat starts to become almost completely brown, add in cheese and mix thoroughly.
  4. Place meat and cheese mix in the grinder roll and top with onions.
